Ophelia
This incredibly sweet senior ferret came to us when their family was no longer able to meet their medical needs.
Because of her age and health status, she's been placed in fostice care - foster home hospice care - where we will provide treatments to keep her comfortable and give her all the attention and love we can, until it’s her time to leave for the Rainbow Bridge.
Ophelia is mostly blind has insulinoma and adrenal disease.
Since we see a lot of ferrets with insulinoma, we keep loads of pred on hand but the cost of two DES implants is a bit out of our reach right now. We are using melatonin to treat the hair loss until we can raise the funds to get implants for both girls.
Ophelia is very people oriented. She constantly follows her foster mom all over the house, even braving the stairway tunnel to be with her. She even climbs up into the bed via the ramp to cuddle with her foster mom and Ophelia gives almost everyone she meets the most delicate of kisses.
Taylor, Ophelia's long term bonded mate (seen in many of her photos) has recently crossed the rainbow bridge. DIP Taylor.
