Donations

Operating without a physical shelter, VI FERT relies entirely on a network of foster homes and volunteers who open their hearts (and homes) to these mischievous, needy, and endlessly affectionate animals. From the moment ferrets enter our care, they receive a mandatory two-week quarantine for health monitoring and behavioural assessment, followed by a full veterinary check. Any necessary treatment, including surgeries, are provided based on each ferret’s needs .

What truly sustains VI FERT’s efforts is the generosity of donors. The organization depends on community donations, both financial and in-kind, to cover essential veterinary expenses such as surgery, removal of blockages, X-rays, treatment for adrenal disease, and travel costs for rescues.

They gratefully accept monetary contributions via e-transfer (info@vifert.ca) or cash at events, and welcome ferret-related supplies like cages, hammocks, and tubes to equip foster homes.
