Volunteering

There are many opportunities that make a real difference in ferret lives through a range of rewarding volunteer roles. Whether you’re a foster home provider, logistical helper, event enthusiast, emergency support, or love spreadsheets, there’s a perfect fit for you:

Foster Homes

Foster Homes are the backbone for the BC Ferret Rescue Society. While you handle day-to-day care like food and litter, we support all vet and medical costs. Foster parents often have the rewarding option to “foster fail” if they fall in love with the ferret in their care!

Events

Serve as an ambassador at local events where the BC Ferret Rescue Society raises awareness and connects with ferret lovers across the community.

Transportation

Help move ferrets safely! Whether transporting them to veterinary visits, between foster homes, or to new adoptive families. Your driving support, across town or across the province, plays a critical role in their care journey.

Emergency Fostering

Provide immediate, temporary care when ferrets need to be surrendered urgently; sometimes on a few hours or a days notice. Your flexible support is essential to ensure no ferret is left without a safe place.

Ferret-sitting

Volunteers commonly ferret-sit for other members or our community. Ferret-sitting fees help fund the BC Ferret Rescue Society while also giving everyone the peace of mind of knowing their ferrets are being well taken care of while they are away!

Administration

Keep the BC Ferret Rescue Society running smoothly behind the scenes as we continue to grow and expand. Help with tasks like communications, fundraising, data entry, coordinating supplies, or outreach to the public.
