Wasabi

Wasabi is a 2 1/2-year-old boy that came to us a year and a half ago. At first we thought he was perfectly healthy but soon we found out the sad news that he had a severe heart defect.

Due to this his lifespan has been drastically shortened we decided that we could not adopt out this sweet loving, ferret. Instead his foster home did a special adoption and kept him as a permanent palliative in her home with his bonded partner Ginger.

Wasabi loves his food and is  nicknamed the Garburator. Wasabi is just over 4 pounds and a big boy full of love and gentleness, despite his size. He is often followed by one of his playmates Rosie, who is a 2 pound female, who will follow him around and clean his ears. This beautiful boy sometimes has coughing fits when he is stressed due to his heart defect.

We don’t know how long it will be before he goes into heart failure. Despite this uncertainty Wasabi lives, his best life going on walks, playing in his macaroni dig bin, sleeping in a pile with five other ferrets and getting loves and scratches from his human.
